March 2008 - Social Report

  • 3/24/08 - “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Recognition Reception”, Sharon and I were invited to a Recognition Reception at the “The Little Theater Café” given by the American Cancer Society, Sharon, myself and RCC were presented with a Certificate for Leading and Outstanding Team, “Corvettes for the Cure” in last years “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk”, Sharon was the Team Leader of our group of 35 RCC members/walkers, in which our Team raised $1,856.00. It was very nice to see all our Team walkers with RCC on the back of their shirts, getting the Club name out there in a public fund raising, over 9,000 people walked last year. Sharon wants to thank everyone who walked and raised money for this effort, and also the 2007’ Executive Board who supported the effort and supplied the T-Shirts. RCC will again field a Team “Corvettes for the Cure” for the 2008 walk, which is being held on October, 5th, so check the event listing and sign-up to walk this year, you will enjoy the experience.

  • 3/31/08 – “RCC Club Meeting”, 68 people attended the March meeting, and 2 actually drove their Vettes, Tedesche and Popple. There were also 3 new Members there in attendance. Meeting went well, John Och gave us an update on Corvette Racing, and most of the discussion revolved around the Proposed changes/additions to the Constitution.
